BUL FC has announced the acquisition of talented striker Joel Madondo on a one year renewable contract, adding depth and firepower to their squad for the upcoming season.
Madondo brings a wealth of experience in the Uganda Premier League, having previously played for Busoga United and Gaddafi FC.
During his time with Busoga United, he showcased extraordinary performances and displayed excellent goal poaching skills, which caught the attention of scouts and earned him a move to Wydad Casablanca in January 2020.
Although Madondo's stint with the Moroccan giants was short-lived, he returned home to Uganda and later had a brief spell with Tanzania's second division club, Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), in January 2022.
His versatility and goal-scoring prowess make him a valuable addition to the BUL FC squad.
Notably, Madondo played a significant role in Uganda's success in the CECAFA senior challenge cup in 2019.
His crucial goal in the 3-0 victory over Eritrea at Lugogo helped guide the Uganda Cranes to clinch the prestigious title.
The signing of Joel Madondo marks BUL FC's third acquisition of the transfer window.
The club previously secured the services of striker Gerald Ogweti on a two-year contract, demonstrating their ambition to strengthen their attacking options.
Additionally, goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa has also been confirmed as a BUL FC player, adding depth to the team's defensive line.
Moreover, defender Hilary Onek has been rewarded with a new two-year contract, highlighting the club's commitment to maintaining a strong core of players.
Under the guidance of former Busoga United head coach Abbey Kikomeko, BUL FC aims to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours in the upcoming season.
With the addition of Joel Madondo's goal-scoring prowess and experience, the Eastern Giants look set to make a strong impact on the Uganda Premier League.
