Kampala Queens sit second in Group A with seven points from four games but will need an almost impossible favour from FAD Djibouti to survive an early exit.

Kampala Queens have completed their group matches in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League, but Thursday’s fixture will interest them greatly.

The Ugandan champions sit second in Group A with seven points from four games but will need an almost impossible favour from FAD Djibouti to survive an early exit.

Buja Queens from Burundi follow on third with six points and need just a point to equal Kampala Queens’ tally and go through courtesy of their superior head-to-head record.

Buja beat Kampala Queens 2-1 in the second game to take the early advantage.

On Thursday, they face a side that has shipped in sixteen goals so far and scored only one in their three outings.

For context, no Djibouti side has ever picked a point in this tournament!

FAD has only managed to score two, including another in their debut in the first edition in 2021, before GRFC posted the worst result in the campaign ever by conceding 20 and scoring none.

FAD lost 8-0 to Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, 2-0 to Yei Joint Stars and 6-1 to Kampala Queens.

In Buja, FAD faces an uphill task with top Kenyan striker Teopister Situma aiming to replicate or better Fazila Ikwaput’s five-goal performance in the race for the golden boot.

She has scored three goals so far.
