Buddo moves top group E with 14 points as Amus, with 12, drop to third after the loss.
Denis Kisiriko’s 60th-minute goal was enough for Buddo SS as they dispatched Amus College to assume the lead in Group E of the National Secondary Schools Football Boy’s championship on Monday.
The Bukedea school led the pool into day six and needed to avoid a loss but will have their sloppy defending to blame as Kisiriko latched on a long ball to easily slot home.
The result guides Buddo to the top of the table with 14 points as Amus, with 12, drop to third after the loss.
Fort Portal SS rise to third with 13 points after condemning Dynamic SS to a 1-0 defeat.
Buddo is a two-time champion after winning the 2009 and 2018 editions in Fort Portal and Mbarara, respectively.
Fort Portal SS face Amus College on Tuesday in what is likely a winner-takes-all fixture.
