Roberto de Zerbi, the manager of Brighton and Hove Albion, gave a hint about what has kept his players motivated and productive this season.
The unity of the team, according to Brighton's manager, has been essential to their success this season. The Italian manager has been speaking with Gazzetta dello Sport following a successful season that has Brighton playing for Europe and in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Since the arrival of De Zerbi, the Seagulls have been exciting to watch as the Italian continued on what his predecessor Graham Potter had established before him by implementing a more offensive, exciting brand of play.
Roberto de Zerbi team progress
In doing so, he added a number of players to the squad that Potter had already put together but hadn't been given a chance to play before. Pervis Estupián, Kaoru Mitoma, and Evan Ferguson, among others, have entered the team and performed admirably this season, so it's worked out nicely for him.

PREMIER LEAGUE Brendan Rodgers says Kelechi Iheanacho's lack of minutes is down to Patson Daka
The Super Eagles star has struggled for regular football at Leicester City this season.
Although he feels the core that was already there when he arrived has been important, the modifications he has made have been more surface-level than starting from scratch.
Speaking in an interview, De Zerbi said, “Another luck I had is that I replaced a coach who had done a great job at Brighton. “I slowly turned everything around, but it didn’t take away from the fact that I had a team that had courage, knew how to stay on the pitch and work.
“I put in 3-4 new players: Estupinian hardly ever played, Colwill never played, Steele never played, Mitoma never played, Ferguson never played, and Gross never played full-back. These are big differences, because it is always the players who move.

COPA DEL REY Barcelona suffer another injury blow ahead of the Real Madrid clash
Barcelona confirm another injury to a major player as they care up to face Real Madrid in the El Clasico.
“The real secret is the hard core of the dressing room: people like Dunk, for me he is one of the five best centre-backs in Europe, Gross, Veltman, Welbeck, Webster, Lallana, March, Steele.
“Brighton don’t have to be careful when I leave, but when this group of players leave or go away.”
Brighton playing European football
In the Premier League standings, De Zerbi's club is in seventh place, five points behind Newcastle in fifth. They still have a chance to earn a spot in the Europa League. The Brighton manager will be seeking to do this so that his team may compete in the Europa League rather than the Conference League the following year.
