Mamelodi Sundowns, the home of Kenyan defender Brian Mandela, have set the football world abuzz with the grand unveiling of their new jersey ahead of the much-anticipated 2023/2024 season.
The innovative design, aptly named 'The Beat Goes On,' pays tribute to the unique African Rhythm that pulsates through the hearts of Masandawana fans on match days.
The mesmerising graphic on the home shirt features the iconic MSFC print surrounded by captivating audio waveforms that artfully represent the thunderous drum beats, soulful singing, and impassioned chanting of both supporters and players alike, which resound throughout the stadium before, during, and after matches.
The kit, designed by Puma, delves deep into the very essence of what it means to be a devoted Mamelodi Sundowns supporter.
"It is a tribute to everyone involved in the club, from the generations of loyal fans, to the staff working tirelessly behind the scenes, the stars gracing the pitch, and the promising academy players,” said Puma Marketing Director, Brett Bellinger.
“The drums hold significant cultural importance for Mamelodi Sundowns, symbolising the club's passion and the boundless energy of its ardent supporters. Among them, the late John Black Madumo – the beloved 'Master Drum' – held a special place, as he was the heartbeat of the stadium for many years."
