The world class defensive midfielder has completely helped to turn things around at the Red Devils after leading them to glory.
Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro has named his favourite goal for the club after leading the club to their first title in six years.
Casemiro was on target again as the Red Devils brushed aside Newcastle United to lift their first trophy in six years on Sunday.
The Brazil International has been one of the standout performers this season for Erik Ten Hag’s United following his shock move from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The hitherto 30-year-old joined the Red Devils in a deal worth €70m and has completely helped rejuvenate the club under the guidance of Ten Hag.
Casemiro names favourite goal for United
Casemiro has overcome the slow start to life at Old Trafford to become one of the first names on the team sheet for Ten Hag.
The 31-year-old has scored five goals and assisted six more across all competitions this season for the Red Devils.
His latest contribution came in the form of a thumping header which inspired United to their first-ever title in six years.
Casemiro opened the scoring as the Red Devils defeated Newcastle United in the final of the Carabao Cup at Wembley on Sunday.
However, despite the importance of the goal and others he has scored for the club, the Brazilian has picked his goal against Chelsea in the Premier League as his favourite.
“As I said, they (all the goals) are all special and important,” he replied when asked about his favourite goal for the club during an interview with MUTV.
“But it's undoubtedly the one against Chelsea. As well as it being my first goal for United, due to the importance of the game, the atmosphere there and how the game had been going against Chelsea, it was more special. There was that little bit extra about it.”
Casemiro netted a stunning stoppage-time header to save United from defeat as they shared the spoils at Stamford Bridge following a 1-1 draw.
The goal against Graham Potter’s Blues was the first for the Brazilian at the club in his 12th match following his transfer.
Casemiro and Manchester United are in action again on Wednesday as they look to book a place in the quarterfinal of the FA Cup.
The Red Devils will host West Ham United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night with kickoff slated for 8:45 pm.
