The game against Belgium was probably the toughest in the competition so far and belgium was one of the few teams that meant Brazil were not going into a match as favorites. Inspired by a World-Class performance from Eden Hazard and a good shift from Kevin De Bruyne, a 2-1 victory for Belgium meant the end of the road for Brazil at Russia 2018.

Brazil showed an enviable level of dominance in the CONMEBOL world cup qualifiers, they were almost untouchable, invincible in fact, as they went through the campaign unbeaten and winning 14 of 17 games.
Brazil have also been impressive in friendlies, the most recent a 5-1 win against Tunisia, who are also in the world cup. Brazil's form meant they displaced Belgium as the number one team on the FIFA rankings, the first team to do that since 2018.

Laliga’s Vinicius and Raphinha would be Brazil’s starting wingers at the tournament, and Marquinhos would be partnering with Thiago silva at the back with Allison in goal, the midfield is still up in the air but it is Casemiro and one other playing behind Neymar.

Tite is one of the few national team managers that are good enough to be managing top European teams and he has been linked with many.
Tite took the Brazilian job in 2016 and has led the team to a World Cup quarter-final finish in 2018, a Copa America win in 2019, and Finalists in 2021. He would be looking to crown his good run with a World Cup win.
