The Leopards have seen their early season optimism dwindle in recent weeks, with back to back defeats to KCCA FC and Maroons have seen them tumble down to 10th position.
Arua Hill assistant coach Ahmed Borin has urged his side to put their recent troubles behind them when they host struggling Blacks Power at the Barifa Stadium in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league on Thursday.
The Leopards have seen their early season optimism dwindle in recent weeks, with back to back defeats to KCCA FC and Maroons have seen them tumble down to 10th position.
Arua Hills were comfortably beaten 2-0 away to Maroons FC in Luzira last Tuesday, but Borin insists that they must ‘quickly forget, and should react positively’.
“We need to react immediately to the two defeats we have suffered,” Borin told Pulse Sports, adding; “We have to find our best level again.”
“It’s not just two bad results but not performing the way we normally perform and as a whole we were not performing the way we should in certain moments.”
“We have tried to go about it in a different way and showed the players where we came short, and the players have shown positive reaction to that which is a good thing for us.”
“So tomorrow, hopefully they show the fruits for the work we have done since our last game,” he continued.
Blacks Power now managed by former Arua Hill coach Hussein Mbalangu will fancy their chances rest assured that victory takes them out and three points above the relegation places.
They held Arua Hill to a frustrating goalless draw at the Akii Bua Stadium in October 2022, ending Arua’s perfect start that had seen them pick up victories against KCCA and Maroons.
And Borin still vividly remembers that game, which he says gives a glimpse of how tough getting the three points off the relegation strugglers can be.
“It is tough everytime you face a team at the wrong end of the table, especially with how far we are in the season,” Borin explained.
“They held us in the first meeting, and will come with the same drive and ambition, so we have to be ready to take the fight.”
Arua Hill may still be without midfielder Faizul Ibrahim who returned to training this week, while forward Innocent Maduke will be assessed further.
