Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed that Victor Osimhen is a long-time Chelsea fan.
What Ekong said
Speaking in an interview with talkSPORT, the Al-Kholood man who faced Zapata in the Serie A on multiple occasions during his stints with Udinese and Salernitana named the 33-year-old as the most difficult forward he ever faced.
“There was one striker at Atalanta called Duvan Zapata, a Colombian striker, and it was in 2019, and I just couldn’t get near him. Too strong, too fast, a great finisher, and just his awareness in the box,” Ekong revealed.
“I think he scored quite a lot of goals against me that season, and he was my nightmare, my nemesis. I would have to give it to him, but there are too many great strikers to name, to be honest.”
What Bonucci said
Ekong is not the only defender that has been terrorised by Zapata through the years, as Bonucci, one of the greatest defenders in modern Serie A history, also had his own dread tale, ranking the Colombian above Messi and Ronaldo in terms of fear factor.
"I have played against Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres and many others,” Bonucci said. “But I was genuinely afraid of Duvan Zapata. Before games against Atalanta, I couldn’t sleep at night. Zapata's power and physicality made him my nightmare."
