Austin FC II beat Colorado Rapids 2, 4-1, after penalties in the final match of this season's Western Conference.

The shootouts came in the midst of a barren stalemate after both 90 and the extra 30 minutes.

Bobosi Byaruhanga played 120 minutes before getting replaced in the final moments towards penalties for Jonathan Santillan, who scored the winning spot-kick.

The 21-year-old former Uganda Premier League champion was making his 25th appearance of the season for Austin.

Since joining the side in February 2023, Byaruhanga has scored one goal and managed three assists.

Meanwhile, Byaruhanga and his side will now take on Eastern Conference champions Columbus Crew 2 in the overall final, slated for October 22.

His trophy cabinet is now stacked with the Western Conference championship, two Uganda Premier League titles and a Uganda Cup.
