The player opted for the knife to address a recurring injury, marking a hopeful step towards recovery.

AFC Leopards midfielder Saad Musa, who has been plagued by a recurring shoulder injury for the past two years, has successfully undergone surgery to address the issue.

The 27-year-old South Sudan international had been sidelined since June, missing a significant portion of the previous season and sitting out the current one.

The lengthy road to recovery for Musa began when he underwent an MRI scan to gain a comprehensive understanding of the extent of his shoulder problem at the conclusion of the last season.

After a period of anticipation, Musa revealed the positive news to fans and supporters that the surgery had been completed successfully.

While he did not specify the exact duration of his recovery, Musa expressed his gratitude and optimism for the journey ahead.

"Had a successful bankart repair on my right shoulder…we give thanks to the Almighty; let's get together through the recovery journey fam," he stated on his official Facebook page.

Saad Musa initially burst onto the scene with Nairobi City Stars, where he made 24 appearances, showcasing his talent and potential.

Subsequently, he made a pivotal move to Thika United, where he further honed his skills, amassing an impressive 63 appearances during his time there.

In June 2018, AFC Leopards secured the promising midfielder's services, signing him from Thika United.

Musa was just 20 years old at the time and penned a four-year contract with Ingwe, with high expectations for his future contributions to the team's success.

His addition to the Leopards' roster marked a significant milestone in his career, as he embraced the challenge of playing for one of Kenya's most iconic football clubs.

Notably, Saad Musa's ambition transcended domestic boundaries, as he embarked on a remarkable journey that took him to Spain for trials with the prestigious Spanish club Velez in September 2019.

Although the move did not materialize, it underscored the midfielder's determination to compete at the highest level of professional football.
