Napoli want to tie their Scudetto-winning hero Victor Osimhen to a longer contract to ward off interest from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG

Napoli have taken more steps to make good on the promise of president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who vowed to keep the Scudetto winning crop of players and staff by reportedly opening contract talks with top-scorer Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has scored 23 goals in Serie A this season, helping the Partenopei secure their first league title in 33 years and earning himself a place among the most elite players in Napoli history.

Osimhen’s incredible 2022/23 form has not gone unnoticed, with many European giants fawning over the forward and vying for his signature in the summer despite Napoli slapping a €150 million price tag on the Nigerian forward.

Clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with a move for the 24-year-old forward, but their hopes are set to be dashed after the latest revelations about Osimhen’s contract.

Osimhen set for Napoli contract extension

Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli has reported that the Naples club have taken steps to ensure that Oismhen continues at the club for a long time, after opening talking channels with Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, after the Scudetto title win.

Napoli president De Laurentis has also expressed his intentions to keep the player at the club beyond the summer, while both Osimhen and his agent have acknowledged that this summer might not be the best time to move.

Osimhen’s current contract with Napoli runs until 2025, and the Partenopei chiefs want to avoid having to face pressure to extend the Nigerian’s contract next season when he will have one year left on the deal.

If Napoli and Osimhen are able to agree on a new deal, it will help the Italian club hold leverage if they do decide to sell him, but a new contract will also help increase the bond between Osimhen and the Naples clubs as well as its fans.
