Ajax defender Jurrien Timber has reportedly agreed to join Arsenal this summer despite heavy links to Manchester United.
Timber has been very high on Mikel Arteta's list of targets for Arsenal this summer and the club have reportedly been working on a deal for several weeks.
Arsenal close to sealing move for Timber
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are edging closer to pulling off what can only be viewed as an excellent transfer, considering the player's quality, versatility, and age.
The Gunners submitted an offer worth £30million earlier this month, but it was rejected by Ajax who have been holding out for closer to £50million.
Arsenal are convinced they can strike a deal for less than the asking price and have moved to agree personal terms with the 22-year-old. Fabrizio adds that Timber is very keen on he switch and Ajax are expecting a second bid imminently, which could lead to a swift conclusion.
