Gor Mahia saw their winning run halted following a stunning 1-0 defeat to Bidco United in Machakos on Sunday.
Gor Mahia’s mini revival came to a crushing end following a 1-0 loss to Bidco United at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.
K’Ogalo were downed by a sixth-minute penalty converted by Erik Michibu, who showed great composure to slot the ball past Kevin Omondi, who was left rooted to his spot.
The visitors then stood firm, putting up a spirited defensive display to claim all three points despite Gor Mahia’s best efforts to get an equaliser.
Gor Mahia had put together a three-match winning run since the sacking of Brazilian coach Leonardo Neiva but Anthony Akhulia’s men had other ideas, taking full advantage of the penalty that went their way.
The win ended Bidco’s run of three matches without victory, having drawn two and lost one over that period.
Gor Mahia will be thankful that leaders KCB also dropped points on Sunday following a 1-1 draw away to Bandari in Mombasa and the bankers now occupy top spot with 23 points, six more than K’Ogalo.
