Chidera Ejuke has been one of the best dribblers in Europe's top five leagues this season

CIES’ take-on index, which measures the frequency and success rate of dribbles, has again shown Ejuke’s exceptional ability to beat defenders, which has earned him the nickname “New Jay Jay Okocha.”

Like the player to whom he has been likened, Ejuke’s ability to consistently take on defenders has made him one of the most feared players in Europe.

His rating of 86.4, as calculated by CIES, comes from his impressive success rate in dribbling during the current season’s domestic league matches.

In addition to being rated as one of the best dribblers in the world, Ejuke has also completed the most take ons of any player across Europe’s top five leagues with 28 successful dribbles.

Nigerian stars shining in Europe

Ejuke is not the only Nigerian player making waves in Europe’s dribbling rankings. His compatriot Moses Simon has also made the list, ranking 21st with a rating of 81.8.

Though not quite at Ejuke’s level, Simon’s performance puts him ahead of many notable names, like Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon, and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, with Mbappe just ahead of the Nigerian forward with a rating of 82.2.

The only players ahead of Ejuke on CIES’ rankings are West Ham’s Ghana international Mohammed Kudus with a rating of 92.6, Everton’s Ilman Ndiaye (87.3), and Lazio’s Nuno Tavarez, who make up the top three as well as Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in fourth with a rating of 86.5.
