Benson Omala wasted no time to introduce himself to his new fans as he opened his goal account for Lebanese outfit Al-Safa in his first match for the club.

Benson Omala scored on his debut for Lebanese side Al-Safa during their friendly match with Sahal Youth on Friday.

Omala, who got his first start on the day he began his new adventure in the Middle East, wasted no time to introduce himself to his new fans as he bagged one of the goals in Al Safa’s 3-1 victory.

The former Gor Mahia man opened his account with the first goal for his new employers before Qasim Hayek and Islam Al-Batran added the others for the win at the Al-Safa Stadium.

Omala will hope to maintain his scoring form until the season starts as the team looks to improve on their fourth-place finish of last season.

Al-Safa are three-time winners of the Lebanese Premier League but their win last came in 2016.

The club has been on a signing spree, bringing in players from Africa and the Middle East, to bolster their squad with West African Guy Claude Eke the latest to arrive at the club this week.

Omala joined the club with a high pedigree after his 45 league goals for Gor Mahia in the last two seasons when K’Ogalo won back-to-back FKF Premier League titles.

He will hope to replicate that form for the Asian side which will endear himself to the home supporters and make his stay comfortable.

Based in Wata El Msaytbeh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, Al-Safa, founded in 1939, play their home matches at the 4,000-seater Al-Safa Stadium.
