The 22-year-old has fired his local club to the top of Group A and wants to hit double figures in the NPFL.
Bendel Insurance are not looking to win the 2023 NPFL season according to their superstar Imade Oserenkhoe.
Oserenkhoe and Insurance have kicked off life in the league in blistering fashion following their promotion last season.
The Benin side is top of the table in Group A after four wins in their opening four matches in the abridged season.
Insurance want to remain in the NPFL
After a four-year absence, Insurance are back in the NPFL and looking good after winning all their matches, scoring eight goals and conceding just one.
While the club looks unstoppable at the moment and is the only team yet to drop a point so far this season, they are fully focused on preserving their status in the top flight.
Super forward Oserenkhoe revealed this during an interview after helping the club to another impressive outing on Sunday.
Speaking on his targets and the club’s chances of winning the league this season, the 22-year-old noted that the Benin Arsenal just want to stay in the NPFL.
“Our target is not winning the league,” Oserenkhoe said. “The target is to remain in the league next season and hopefully, go for the super six and the goal still hasn’t changed.”
Oserenkhoe not after personal gains
The forward has been in superb form for his club so far this term, scoring four goals in four matches to become the top scorer.
However, the Arsenal fan is the ultimate team player and is not interested in personal gain but only focused on helping his club achieve their aim - staying in the NPFL beyond this season.
“My goal is not to win the highest goal scorer (award),” he added.
“I want to keep helping my team to win as many games as possible and then hit double figures (in goals) before the end of the season.”
