KPL CEO Jack Oguda has expressed his thoughts on how FKF should have handled abandoned Shabana vs Posta Rangers fixture.

Kenya Premier League Chief Executive Officer Jack Oguda has slammed Football Kenya Federation (FKF )over their handling of the abandoned Shabana vs Posta Rangers game.

Shabana were making the long awaited return to their historical home stadium but fate would not have it so.

The match was delayed for over an hour before eventually being abandoned with the match officials sighting concern for their security.

Oguda has expressed discontent with the way FKF handled the situation.

"The beauty about KPL was constant meetings and constant discussions about how to improve the league. We did have a safety and security committee that used to handle all the matches before the season and grade them as low-risk, medium-risk and high-risk," Oguda told Passion Sports when questioned on what FKF erred and could be done differently.

"The head of that committee had to ensure that all the guidelines for high-risk matches are followed to the letter. For instance we preferred that tickets for high-risk matches be sold in advance and improved security measures."

Prior, Ulinzi's late equalizer against Shabana saw the Ulinzi Sports complex erupt into chaos with supporters uprooting seats, prompting FKF to regulate over the matter.

FKF's ruling slapped Shabana with a five-match ban as well as responsibility of compensation for the vandalism at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Oguda has slammed the federation fro being reactive in the matter.

"They (FKF) should be proactive instead of being reactive. This incident that happened the other day with Ulinzi was being reactive because if they should have engaged the police, the club and put down very serious measures," added Oguda
