Portuguese forward Joao Felix was spotted at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami to watch former Barcelona star Lionel Messi lift the 2024 Copa America title against Colombia.
Felix enjoys Barcelona legend’s game
The 24-year-old forward was seen in the stands during the final of the 2024 Copa America between Argentina and Colombia that the Albiceleste won 1-0 in extra time thanks to a Lautaro Martinez goal.
The Argentines won their second consecutive Copa America title, making them 16-time champions of the competition, making them the record winners of the tournament.
The continental champions were deserved winners over Colombia and had a special guest in attendance, Felix, whose penalty kick knocked his country out of the 2024 European championship, just a few weeks prior.
Felix still hoping for transfer from Atletico Madrid
Felix, who is currently on the books of Atletico Madrid is still hoping for a move away from the club after spending the last season and a half on loan to different clubs in a bid to get away from his parent club.
The Portugal international’s last loan spell was with Barcelona, where Felix impressed in spells for the Blaugrana, scoring ten goals and providing six assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
Felix’s first hope for a move away from Atletico Madrid is Barcelona, but the Blaugrana’s financial situation and pursuit of Athletic Club’s Nico Williams mean that a move for the Portugal star is unlikely to materialise.
Instead, Felix has now been linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal, after spending six months on loan with the Gunners’ London rivals Chelsea previously.
