As the summer window approaches the big clubs are being linked to several names across Europe and a new name has been added to the list of transfer targets for Barcelona and Manchester United.
Jeremie Frimpong is one of the most exciting young full-backs in Europe and the Bayer Leverkusen star has been linked to a host of top clubs.
Frimpong is having an excellent season for Leverkusen
The 22-year-old has been ever-present for the Bundesliga side this season, not only is he efficient on the defensive end, the young right-back is splendid when going forward.
He has been terrific for Leverkusen with a tally of 8 goals and 9 assists in all competitions.
Frimpong is predominantly a right-back but he can also be used as a wing-back or wide midfielder.
Barcelona, Man United interested in Frimpong
Over the past few weeks, he has been heavily linked with Manchester United, but transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Spanish giants Barcelona have entered the race to secure his services.
The Blaugrana have reportedly made contact with the players representing understand the possibilities and feasibility of a potential transfer.
In light of United’s interest in Frimpong, it appears unlikely that Barca will have the financial muscle to compete, owing to their economic issues.
However, as they showed with the Raphinha transfer last summer, you can never write off the Catalan giants when it comes to working out solutions.

Meanwhile, Barcelona continue to explore conditions to bring Lionel Messi back to the club.
Due to the financial complexities involved in completing such a deal, Barcelona are looking for ways to make Messi's return possible. The Catalan giants are expected to offer him a percentage of revenues from new sponsors, which the club anticipates will be knocking on the door upon Messi's return.
