Ken Odhiambo has fired up Bandari urging his team to rise in a critical clash against league leaders KCB.

Bandari FC head coach Ken Odhiambo has issued a rallying call to his team to go “full throttle” when they face FKF Premier League leaders KCB in a top-of-the-table clash at Ukunda Showground, Kwale County on Sunday afternoon.

The Dockers, currently third in the league standings with 19 points, are just three points behind the league leaders.

A win would see Bandari equal KCB’s tally and a victory with more than five unanswered goals would propel them to the top of the table, a feat Ken Odhiambo believes is achievable.

“We will take KCB like the other teams. They are not special, only that they’re in good form this season,” said Odhiambo as per Citizen.

“We will go full force against them as we chase maximum points plus a big win so that we can have a high number of goal aggregate.”

Bandari head into the much-anticipated showdown riding high on back-to-back wins.

However, Odhiambo has stressed the importance of treating this match like any other, despite the stakes involved.

The Dockers will also need to remain cautious as KCB, led by Patrick Odhiambo, are hungry for a return to winning ways following a recent dip in form that has seen them fail to secure victory in their last two outings.

Bandari CEO Tony Kibwana remains optimistic about Bandari’s chances, even as they prepare to face a KCB side featuring five former Bandari players, including the likes of Fraj Ominde, goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo, and top scorer Francis Kahiro.

“We know they have almost five players who were with us before, but that won't change the fact that we need three points from the encounter,” said Kibwana.

“We know it won't be an easy match, but we promise our fans an interesting and entertaining match. Our fans must show up in large numbers and push the players to their limit. They are the 12th player.”

The Dockers’ key players will need to rise to the occasion if they are to secure a decisive win.

With the stakes high, Ken Odhiambo’s tactical acumen and his team’s ability to withstand pressure will be tested against a resilient KCB outfit.

On the other hand, KCB head coach Patrick Odhiambo is determined to maintain his team’s position at the summit of the table.

Despite their recent struggles, Odhiambo is confident his side can bounce back and cement their place at the top.

“It’s a must-win game, and I know it will be a tough one. We will try to get all the three points as we aim to end the recent slump,” said Patrick Odhiambo.

Elsewhere in the league, reigning champions Gor Mahia will look to extend their winning streak to four matches when they face Bidco United at Kenyatta Stadium.

K’Ogalo, who are fourth in the standings with 17 points, closed the gap on KCB following a thrilling 3-2 midweek win over Talanta.

With two games in hand, the defending champions remain a formidable force in the title race.

Sunday’s clash in Ukunda promises fireworks as two of the league’s top sides lock horns in what could be a defining moment for both teams.
