Dockers' preparations intensify ahead of FKF Premier League kickoff.

With just 11 days left until the kickoff of the highly anticipated 2023/2024 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season, Bandari FC has embarked on a strategic training camp in Central Kenya.

The Dockers' decision to head to Nyahururu for a week-long high-altitude training camp comes hot on the heels of their pre-season stint in Tanzania.

According to the club's statement, the primary focus of the Nyahururu training camp is to enhance the players' lung capacity and gauge their strength through friendly matches against local teams.

"The team has officially arrived in Nyahururu for the 'High Altitude' exercise," announced the club, underscoring the seriousness of their preparations.

“In this camp, our boys plan to increase their lung capacity as well as test their strength through friendly matches against local teams.”

This strategic move demonstrates Bandari's willingness to explore innovative training methods to gain a competitive edge in the league.

High altitude training is renowned for its ability to challenge athletes' endurance and resilience, and Bandari aims to harness these benefits for a successful season ahead.

The team has lined up a series of friendly matches against local sides during their training camp, culminating in a final build-up match before their league opener against Tusker FC on Saturday, August 26 at their home ground, Mbaraki.

Following their clash with Tusker, they will set their sights on an away fixture against Sofapaka on Wednesday, September 13.

In their recent tour to Tanzania, Bandari demonstrated a mix of results. They secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Coastal Union before experiencing a setback with a 2-0 loss to Azam FC.

The Dockers concluded the previous season in sixth position in the league.
