Baraza has praised Shabana’s desire and willingness to make life difficult for Bandari despite losing to the Dockers.

Bandari head coach John Baraza has commended Shabana despite securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the newly-promoted side in an FKF Premier League match at Mbaraki Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The stability of Shabana's camp has been questionable, with head coach Sam Okoth reportedly on the verge of leaving at every given chance, a situation compounded by the team's three consecutive league losses.

Baraza, the former Sofapaka and AFC Leopards striker, lauded Shabana for putting up a strong fight, acknowledging that the win against the reigning National Super League champions was indeed hard-earned.

“This game is a clear indication of the fact that there are no easy games in the FKFPL,” Baraza said.

“If you look at the table, Shabana are languishing in the bottom places, but they seriously took the game to us. We expected them to play as they did.

“They are looking for points considering the fact that in the last two or three games, they have failed to register a point, so the game had to be hard.”

Baraza has ran out of superlatives for Shabana’s discipline without the ball, but praised his charges for reaping reward for being patient.

“We expected them to be cautious and put men behind the ball, so for us, it was all about being patient today.

“If you look at our first game, we were patient with our game and we managed to get a point.”

The result now means that Brandari are sixth on 16 points, five behind league leaders Posta Rangers after 10 games played so far this season.

Shabana are 17th on seven points, level with rock-bottom Sofapaka.
