Bandari were rampant on the break in the second half, scoring both goals, which now puts their team firmly in the race for the title this season.

Bandari coach John Baraza is proud of his charges for executing his instructions to the letter after they had enough about their game to down a youthful Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 in a match played at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Bandari were rampant on the break in the second half, scoring both goals, which now puts their team firmly in the race for the title this season.

Speaking to the media after the match, the former Sofapaka, AFC Leopards and Harambee Stars striker revealed his delight at how organised his charges were as they managed to control the entire game.

“It was a tough game but we had prepared ourselves well. We had enough time to prepare and we also understood how Sharks were always going to play and we knew they would try and play through short passes,” Baraza said.

“It was all about keeping our tactical organisation in check in order to manage them. We managed to do that throughout the 90 minutes and contain them. We were waiting for our moments.

“We were superior tactically and it was all about using our chances and we maximized them.”

Baraza lauded the efforts of his forward players, especially Derrick Nsibambi and James Kinyanjui, who hurt the Sharks defence with their pace all afternoon.

“The players as a team were good, especially the wingers Kinyanjui (James) and Nsibambi (Derick) who started as a striker before moving out were good.

“We felt that they had the speed and the skill to hold up the ball. According to the game Sharks played. We expected them to create gaps because of how they set up.

“We knew that having pacey and skilful guys on the flanks would hurt them and cause them trouble in the defence.”
