"I will post the pictures also and the screenshots I had when I spoke to Finidi George (after he was appointed) because you all believe that someone keeping quiet because he is a footballer, ogun kill anybody, any of you that believe (I didn't want to play for Nigeria)."

"You can talk nonsense. I have lost respect I have for that man (Finidi), I have lost it all. I swear to God I have lost it now because why? I called him and told him to allow me to come to the camp to be with the boys, I have all these recorded, to come talk to the boys," Osimhen fumed.

Peterside said that he should publicly acknowledge their contributions and express gratitude for the trail they blazed in Nigerian football.

He said, "Finidi George is a legend, if you have any issue with him call him, that’s how responsible people do. I think the NFF should call Victor Oshimen to apologize to Finidi, he must apologize, he has to apologize for ranting his mouth for saying things.

"Our national team is sacred, days we wore this jersey and respected it with people that wear it before us, Oshimen can’t be first either be the last to wear the jersey, he can’t say things without control, he should come out to apologize to former footballers, NFF, Finidi, and Nigeria.

"I think action should be taken or be banned from the national team because if we allow this kind of thing to continue, it will not go well for Nigeria and the men that have to serve the great country, it is a call that sanity must be brought into our football and those of you in the leadership must show purpose but he has to call the young players to order, this nonsense must stop."

The Napoli forward missed two crucial World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic due to injury.

In his absence, the Super Eagles struggled and couldn't muster a win in both games, leaving Nigeria's qualification to the 2026 FIFA tournament hanging in the balance.
