The French star won the Golden Boot and the 2022 World Cup and helped his country into the finals eventually losing to Argentina.

The 23-year-old finished as topscorer in Ligue 1 scoring 41 goals in all competitions, helping Paris Saint-Germain retain the league title for the umpteenth time.
However, Mbappe will face strong competition from Lionel Messi and Erling Haalad who won the World Cup and the continental treble this season.
What Mbappe said
The PSG forward told French media outlet TF1 that his chances are high to win the individual coveted award.
“The Ballon d’Or? It’s always difficult to talk about an individual trophy because you have to put yourself forward.
“Do I deserve the Ballon d’Or? With the new criteria, what counts? Catching the eye, scoring goals and making an impact? I think I fit those criteria. I’d say yes, but it’s the people who vote and I’m always optimistic.”
