Whereas KCCA are struggling to find any rhythm in the title race, URA have overcome a slow start to the season and been in good form the last few games.
Two days after Morley Byekwaso resigned from his job as KCCA FC head coach before the media, the club finally came out to acknowledge the development.
The club had remained tight-lipped on the situation that arose after KCCA were dumped out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup by Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreational Centre on Sunday.
“KCCA FC acknowledges receipt of Morley Byekwaso’s resignation,” the club said in a statement released Tuesday evening.
The tactician revealed that players were no longer reacting to his commands and saw no reason to continue in the role.
KCCA also confirmed that Badru Kaddu Mukasa would take charge of the team’s Startimes Uganda Premier League clash with URA FC on Wednesday.
Winless in the last four games, KCCA will be looking to resurrect any hopes of being in the title conversation with the league entering its final bend.
Three straight 1-1 draws with Maroons, Blacks Power, and UPDF have left the 13-time league champions five points behind table leaders SC Villa, albeit with two games in hand.

FOOTBALL Why Byekwaso stepped down as KCCA head coach
KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has moved separate ways with his paymasters following indifferent results in the Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Byekwaso got the talent good enough to fight for the title but had failed to master any rhythm or playing style despite having arguably the best squad in the country.
URA test
Whereas KCCA are struggling to find any rhythm in the title race, URA have overcome a slow start to the season and been in good form the last few games.
Sam Timbe’s charges have won three of their last five games but were held to a goalless draw by Arua Hill the last time out.
The two clubs played out a 1-1 draw in the first round, but the tax collectors have dominated this fixture in recent times.
In the last six fixtures, URA have won four times, while KCCA boast one win with one match ending in a draw.
URA have scored eight goals in the six head-to-head matches in total, while KCCA have only found the back of the net four times.
The Tax Collectors lie fifth on 30 points from 21 games and are eight points behind their visitors.
