Aziz Ki is reported to be considering an exit from Tanzania amid family tensions following his surprise marriage to Hamisa Mobetto.

Yanga striker Stephane Aziz Ki is reported to be on the verge of leaving Tanzania following an explosive fallout with his family over his marriage to Tanzanian model and businesswoman Hamisa Mobetto.

The Burkina Faso international, who has been a key figure for Young Africans (Yanga SC), recently tied the knot with Mobetto in a grand Islamic Nikah ceremony in Dar es Salaam.

The ceremony, which took place at Nnuur Mosque on February 16, 2025, was officiated by top Islamic clerics and attended by close friends, celebrities, and sports figures.

Dressed in matching Arabic-inspired aqua green outfits, the newlyweds exchanged vows in a solemn yet elegant setting. The celebrations, however, did not end there, as a luxurious reception is set to take place on February 19 at the Superdome Masaki, attracting high-profile guests from the entertainment and sports world.

Despite the lavish wedding, Aziz Ki’s mother has publicly condemned the manner in which the event was organized, blasting Yanga SC President Hersi Said for orchestrating the ceremony while allegedly sidelining the player’s family.

In a fiery statement, Anata Ki accused Hersi of manipulating her son and attempting to control his future.

“As a family, we were not informed about this wedding,” she declared.

“This young man named Hersi is a great liar before God. You are not the person to prepare for my son’s wedding. You are just a poor leader who wants, with fire and blood, to keep this young man in Tanzania.”

This family dispute has added fuel to ongoing speculation that Aziz Ki may soon part ways with Yanga SC.

The 28-year-old midfielder remains one of the most sought-after players in African football, with several top clubs expressing interest in securing his signature.

Reports by South African publication Kickoff indicate that South African giants Orlando Pirates have submitted a bid of $600,000 for his services.

Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club, Libyan outfit Al Ahli Benghazi, and Algerian powerhouse MC Alger are also reportedly in the race to sign the talented playmaker.

Despite extending his contract with Yanga last season, Aziz Ki’s growing frustration with off-field matters could push him to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

For months, Yanga SC have been determined to retain their star man, rejecting multiple offers from top clubs across the continent.

However, with the current family feud escalating and Aziz Ki’s mother openly voicing her displeasure, it remains to be seen whether the Tanzanian club can once again convince him to stay.

Ki’s marriage to Mobetto has also sparked speculation that the influential businesswoman could play a role in his future career decisions.

Having previously been linked with high-profile figures, Mobetto’s presence in Aziz Ki’s life might encourage him to explore new opportunities beyond Tanzanian football.

Meanwhile, Yanga SC, who were recently knocked out of the CAF Champions League after failing to beat MC Alger, are facing the possibility of losing one of their most prized assets.

The club is desperate to hold onto Ki, but with mounting pressure from his family and big-money offers on the table, his departure seems increasingly inevitable.
