Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer is expected to attend the club's EFL Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Avram Glazer has expressed his desire to be in the stands as Manchester United take on Newcastle in the EFL Cup final as the club attempts to win a first trophy in six years during a critical time of investment talks that could result in a full takeover.

The last time he attended a United game was the opening day defeat to Brighton earlier this season, a game that saw disgruntled fans protest the Glazer family ownership before and during the game, holding banners that read, “Fight greed. Fight for United. Fight Glazers” and “We want our club back.”

Since that time, things have developed quickly, to the point where the Glazers have put the club up for sale, including instructing investment bank, Raine group, to handle the sale and setting a soft deadline for bids that has now come and gone.

It will be intriguing for fans and observers to see Avram Glazer attending the game in the context of the club's potential sale looming.

Last week, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe confirmed they had lodged bids to buy Manchester United.

Fans are patiently awaiting updates on the status of those bids and the negotiation process.

Manchester United take on Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday and Erik ten Hag will be hoping to guide the club to their first trophy since 2017.
