The Ingwe head coach offered an honest assessment of the "cagey" contest at Nyayo Stadium.

AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems was left disappointed by his side's lack of sharpness upfront as they went for three consecutive league matches without scoring.

Ingwe's chances of winning the league title took a hit after they were forced to settle for a goalless draw against FC Talanta at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The draw sees Leopards drop to sixth place after 24 games, with a massive 12 points separating them from table leaders Gor Mahia with ten matches until the end of the campaign.

Aussems has since reacted to the stalemate and rued his men's failure to convert several gilt-edged chances.

"We came to play for a win, but unfortunately, we have drawn. We created chances, but converting them is an issue.

Though we are playing well, lack of possession in the last quarter cost us while some of my top players are injured and I expect them to be back before we face Kakamega Homeboyz, "said Aussems.

Nigerian striker Ojo Olaniyi and Musa Oundo spurned glorious opportunities in the first half, while Victor Omune missed two after the break as Talanta's' counter-attacking style caused AFC Leopards problems throughout the game.

The draw was the seventh for Leopards, who have endured close to 25 years without winning the Premier League title,

Aussems will now start preparing his players for a weekend trip to Bukhungu, while table leaders Gor Mahia have a home fixture against Posta Rangers to look forward to on the same day.

Leopards will aim to bring a two-game winless streak to an end against Homeboyz in the Ingo Derby, who are placed at 11.
