Zambian forward Kennedy Musonda scored the game's only goal as early as the 13th minute.

Even with the absence of goal machine Fiston Mayele and midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, the back-to-back league champions could see out the game.

'Daktari wa Mpiira' has now guided Young Africans to a back-to-back domestic double but, most importantly, also played a vital role as the side reached their maiden final of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Claiming a league double means' Tiimu ya Wanainchi' have condemned arch-rivals Simba SC to two straight seasons without silverware.

Khalid Aucho is now expected to link up with the Uganda Cranes squad ahead of the 2023 AFCON qualifier against Algeria.

The Cranes who sit third, level on points with Tanzania (4) in group F, must win to revive their chances of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Multin Sredejovic's charges face DR Congo first on Wednesday in an international friendly before facing the Desert Foxes at the Japoma stadium in Doula, Cameroon, on Sunday, 18th June.

Uganda Cranes last qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019.
