The rapper who is in a relationship with Rihanna is part of an investment group that is ready to snap 80 per cent of the club.

A$AP Rocky is reportedly set to purchase League Two club Tranmere Rovers for approximately £15 million.

The 36-year-old artist, known for hits like "Praise the Lord" and his high-profile relationship with pop superstar Rihanna, is part of an investment group led by celebrity lawyer Joe Tacopina.

Tacopina, who has a history of involvement in football club ownership, has been negotiating for an 80 percent stake in Tranmere for over six months.

The proposed takeover is currently awaiting regulatory approval from the English Football League (EFL), but sources indicate that Rocky is eager to become actively involved with the club.

Following the completion of the deal, he is expected to attend matches at Prenton Park, Tranmere’s home ground.

A source close to the negotiations revealed, “Rocky is tight with Joe and has committed to the Tranmere bid. Joe has attended Tranmere matches, and Rocky plans to join him once the deal is finalized. We may even see Rihanna watching League Two football!”

Rocky’s involvement in the club could bring a unique level of celebrity endorsement that might transform Tranmere’s fortunes.

Similar to the success of the Disney+ documentary series "Welcome to Wrexham," which followed Hollywood actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds as they revitalized the Welsh club, a documentary focused on Rocky's venture could capture the interest of fans and showcase the club's journey.

Reports suggest that Tacopina views Tranmere as undervalued and believes that with clever marketing and celebrity influence, the club could achieve significant growth.

A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, shares two children with Rihanna, adding a personal touch to his potential commitment to the community surrounding the club.

Tacopina, known for his previous successes in Italian football, sees Tranmere as a prime opportunity.

He has a track record of taking struggling clubs and elevating them, having previously owned sides like Venezia and SPAL.

The news has generated excitement among Tranmere fans, who are hopeful that Rocky’s involvement will breathe new life into the club’s ambitions.

With the rapper's influence and Tacopina’s expertise in football management, there are high hopes that Tranmere Rovers could see a renaissance in both performance and popularity.
