Mikel Arteta wins his fourth Premier League Manager of the Month award in the 2022/23 season
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been named Premier League manager of the month for March, winning his fourth award of the 2022/23 season and his sixth overall in his Premier League career.
Arteta’s brilliant season with Arsenal has seen them top of the Premier League, and the Spaniard is currently on course to break Jurgen Klopp’s record for the most manager of the month awards in a single season.
Arteta has bagged Manager of the Month awards this season in August, December, January, and now March as Arsenal advance steadily towards their first Premier League title since 2004.
Arteta has overseen a sustained period of increase at Arsenal after making his managerial debut with his old club.
He won the FA Cup in his first season at the club, and after only two and a half seasons in charge of Arsenal could become the first manager since Arsene Wenger to lift the Premier League with Arsenal.
Arteta’s four Manager of the Month award means he joins an elite group of managers as only three managers have ever won up to four awards in the same season.
He joins mentor Pep Guardiola on four Manager of the Month awards in a single season, while he remains one shy of Klopp’s record of five in a season.
