Arsenal have announced the signing of Spanish World Cup winner Laia Codina on a permanent transfer from Barcelona.
The 23-year-old centre-back shone at the just-concluded FIFA Women's World Cup, playing in all knockout games for La Roja in their triumphant run to their first World Cup trophy.

Arsenal announce Codina
The Gunners, via their official platforms, announced the signing of Codina from Barcelona, and according to Soccerdonna, they paid €200,000 for her services.
The defender rose through the ranks at Barcelona, making 32 appearances for the Blaugrana. She was also part of three league triumphs, winning two UEFA Women's Champions League trophies, one Spanish Cup, and one Spanish Super Cup.
What Codina saying about joining
“I’m really excited; I can’t wait to start with the team and to be a Gunner,” she said, per the Arsenal website.
“I knew all about the history of this club, so when I found out Arsenal were interested, I didn’t think twice. We want to compete in all four competitions this season, and I’m looking forward to making some memories with our supporters here.”
