Maitland-Niles will be reunited with his former club

Arsenal will face Lyon in their final pre-season fixture at the Emirates Stadium on August 11, 2024.

The Gunners are looking to continue their impressive form after a 4-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, showcasing their attacking prowess with goals from Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus.

Despite this recent success, manager Mikel Arteta remains focused on improvement as Arsenal gear up for their Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 17.

Arsenal's pre-season has seen them win three out of five matches, with their recent form suggesting a strong start to the new season.

They will aim to build on their previous Emirates Cup victories, having won the trophy seven times, the most in the competition's history.

In contrast, Lyon, who have only won the Emirates Cup once, are looking to make a statement ahead of their Ligue 1 opener against Rennes.

Lyon enter this match with a solid pre-season record, having defeated Union Berlin 4-0 recently.

They will be missing key players, including captain Alexandre Lacazette, who was away participating in the France Olympic team’s gold medal match.

However, the French side will be bolstered by the presence of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who returns to his former club.
