Arsenal’s Arteta still in pain
Arteta revealed duringban interview with Spanish outfit Marca while on holiday in Spain.
Speaking on the painful collapse in the final weeks of the season, Arteta noted that the Gunners had just one job last season - to win the league.
However, while he believes his young team still achieved a lot by pushing City to their limits, according to him, it still hurts that his team failed to win it in the end.
“The feat was to win it,” Arteta told Marca. “This is Arsenal and the level of demand is high.”
“To this day, it still hurts me deeply not having won the Premier after spending 10 months fighting with City. But that's the sport.”
“That said, what has been achieved with such a young team [Arsenal had the youngest squad in the Premier] is worthwhile,” he added. “That is clear to me too.”
