Arsenal make opening bid of £60m for Chelsea's Kai Havertz, personal terms agreed

Arsenal have made an opening verbal offer worth £60million for Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz as the Gunners look to seal the German's signature.

Arsenal's offer for Havertz is understood to be worth a guaranteed £55million plus an extra £5m in bonuses. this, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners have been in talks with Chelsea for more than a week trying to ascertain an acceptable figure and now believe their offer should be good enough to force the Blues into a sale. 

Arsenal want to wrap up this deal quickly after reaching a broad agreement on personal terms with the 23-year-old.

Chelsea are believed to be looking for a fee between £70m-£75m as they look to raise funds to move ahead with their own recruitment plans and should an agreement be struck with Arsenal, Havertz could be announced in a matter of days.
