Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Jadon Sancho is getting back to his form and praises Erik Ten Hag for his role in the player's improvement.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright is delighted with what he has seen from Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho lately.
Wright has praised Sancho and his manager Erik Ten Hag following a strong end to the Premier League season for the talented playmaker.
Wright delighted for Sancho
Sancho scored on the final day of the Premier League season as Manchester United came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The 23-year-old netted the equaliser after Tete’s header gave the visitors the lead before Bruno Fernandes scored the winner.
Sancho’s goal was his second goal contribution for the Red Devils in as many matches after he set up Anthony Martial’s goal in the 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea in the club’s penultimate game of the season.
Both contributions saw him take his tallies to seven goals and three assists in all competitions as the England international looked rejuvenated.
Sancho has struggled for form since his celebrated move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
But after a strong end of the season, former Arsenal striker Wright has nothing but praise for the playmaker and his coach.
"The potential that Ten Hag knows he has, he recognised that he needed a little bit of a break and sent him to Holland for a bit of physical and mental recuperation," Wright said on Match of the Day per TalkSport.
"But we know the capability of this guy and know what he’s capable of in respect of his ability and skills.
"Once he has that main focal point as he had at Dortmund with [Marco] Reus and people like that, he will do his stuff because we’re talking about somebody ability-wise he is absolutely top drawer."
Speaking further about Sancho, Wright added that he believes Sancho is starting to find his feet but was sure United would want to see more from the youngster given how much they invested in him.
"I feel he’s starting to settle and you can feel that Man United will make more signings and he’ll have a lot more players to play off and I’m sure we’ll see a lot more from Jadon Sancho,” he added.
"It’s brilliant, I’m delighted for him. I’m delighted for Ten Hag. You can only see good things happening at Man United."
