The "Nearly Team" Comparison
Carragher, in an article for the Telegraph, didn't mince words, likening Arsenal's trajectory to that of Pochettino's Spurs — captivating yet ultimately trophy-less. He described Arsenal as teetering on the edge of establishing themselves as a "nearly team," admired for their style and coaching but falling short when it matters most.
"It is damning with faint praise to say, Arteta, just like Pochettino during his spell at Spurs, deserves more respect and credit for making Arsenal challengers than criticism in the event of falling short," Carragher asserted.

He emphasised that while recognition for progress is commendable, it would offer little solace if Arteta's tenure ends without Premier League or Champions League silverware to show for it.
Arsenal’s season coming to a sad end
Carragher's critique arrives on the heels of a disappointing week for Arsenal, marred by a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League, relinquishing control of the title race to Manchester City.
The Gunners' European aspirations were also dashed, bowing out against Bayern Munich. With the odds now heavily favouring Manchester City in the title race, Arsenal faces an uphill battle, needing to muster every ounce of effort to keep pace until the final whistle blows.
The looming North London derby adds further pressure, as Arsenal braces for a showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 28th.
