Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly turned their attention to the Bundesliga as their search for a striker continues.

Arsenal remain on the hunt for a new striker ahead of next season, after struggling to find a reliable goal-scoring option in recent months.

Mikel Arteta has tried several options in the centre-forward position and appears to have settled on former Chelsea man Kai Havertz.

The Gunners were strongly linked with a move for Napoli man Victor Osimhen but the price tag was always going to be a sticking point.

Arsenal to sign Benjamin Sesko?

According to the Telegraph, Arsenal are now in pole position to land Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, as the club mull over whether or not to pursue a transfer this summer.

Sesko's release clause has risen from £42m to somewhere in the region of £64m after triggering targets in his contract at the end of a fine debut season in Germany in which he's scored 17 goals in 41 games.

Mikel Arteta is looking for reliable firepower after two seasons where they have been exceptional but appear to be falling just short.

Though Arsenal are keen on Sesko, he is not the only striker on their radar, with Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee and Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres also of interest.
