The Angolan international eyes a move to the FKF Premier League as a free agent drawing interest from multiple teams.

Angolan defender Nzau Lumumba could be plying his trade in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) if all goes according to plan.

Lumumba is currently a free agent after recently parting ways with the Ugandan Premier League giants Vipers SC.

The  centre-back, whose past experiences include playing for the Bangladesh side Azampur Football Club Uttara, has been in the spotlight after his agent confirmed interest from several Kenyan teams.

South Africa-based football agent, Mike Roberts expressed optimism about Lumumba’s prospects but chose to keep the names of the interested teams confidential.

"Several teams have already shown interest in the former Wakiso Giants player," Roberts stated, adding a layer of anticipation about where Lumumba might land next.

Despite previous links to the Tanzania Premier League side Singida Big Stars at the start of last season, Lumumba remained with Vipers SC after negotiations faltered over a transfer fee.

Reflecting on those moments, Lumumba shared his thoughts with Pulse Sports.

"At that point I heard a lot of rumors about it, the likes of Singida and some teams did approach the club, Dodomaa Jiji among other teams," he said. However, he revealed that the negotiations did not lead to a transfer: "But they [Singida] didn’t reach an agreement with my club Vipers."

Now as a free agent, Lumumba is looking forward to new opportunities and challenges.

His ambition is not just a personal quest but reflects a broader desire prevalent among players in the region and back home in Angola.

"At the moment I’m a free agent and I’m prepared to make a move. As players, our ambitions constantly change as we develop. Just like everyone in the region and back home in Angola, I hope to play in the FKF Premier League," Lumumba openly shared about his career aspirations.

Now, with the majority of FKF Premier League teams set to start to reinforcing their squads when the widow opens after the end of the league it remains to be seen if any of the 18 teams will sign Lumumba.

His skill set particularly in set-piece situations makes him a valuable asset for any team aiming to climb the league standings or solidify their midfield.
