Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana has joined up with his new teammates at Manchester United in their training camp in the United States.
There is no slowing down for Manchester United's new signing from the Serie A, Cameroonian goalkeeper, Andre Onana.
Onana has had his first training session with his new side following his transfer from Inter Milan to the Red Devils.
The 27-year-old has pen to paper to a five-year deal with an option to extend for a further year that sees him become the third most expensive goalkeeper ever.
Onana enjoys first session
Following the completion of his highly-anticipated transfer to the Red Devils, Onana has since joined up with his teammates in the United States.
United are in the USA for the second phase of their pre-season tour ahead of what is expected to be a decisive second for manager Erik Ten Hag in the Premier League.
Ten Hag has continued to mould his Reds to fit what he wants, with Cameroon’s Onana one of the priority signings for the Dutchman.
Following his arrival in the team’s US camp, the goalkeeper has already had his first session with his new team and teammates.
The Red Devils took to their social media pages to share pictures of a focused Onana in his first session as Red Devil.
United take to the pitch in Florida later on Saturday for their third game of the pre-season and take on English Premier League rivals, Arsenal, in a game that will be anything but friendly.
Why Onana
Meanwhile, United manager Ten Hag has provided more insight to explain the decision to be reunited with his former number one.
Speaking from his base in the US, the former Ajax boss noted that the demands of the modern game meant it was indeed the right time to let go of club legend David De Gea, who left the club as a free agent.
"Most important, always for a keeper, is clean sheets and he's not doing that on his own," the manager said per the club website. "Therefore, you need a very good defensive organisation, [it's] quite clear. But also the capabilities of a keeper is [about] keeping the goal clean. So this is the first criterion of a good goalkeeper.
"But, nowadays, football also demands good playing from the back, out-playing qualities, and that is a quality Andre has. You need both and you need to cover both areas. So yeah, we're happy, of course.
"I think with his physical presence and also with his personality, he is so keen on winning. He's so, so eager to win trophies and he will help the team and he will help the squad to get to higher levels."
