Balogun shines against Ghana
The encounter which was played in the early hours of Wednesday morning saw the United States dominate from start to finish.
All four goals were scored in a blistering first half, with 20-year-old Giovanni Reyna the obvious star of the day after a man-of-the-match performance.
The Borussia Dortmund forward opened the floodgates in the 10th minute before Christian Pulisic doubled the advantage nine minutes later from the spot.
Nigeria’s Balogun joined in on the act as he made it 3-0 to extend the lead for the home side before Reyna wrapped it up with a fourth six minutes before the break.
Ghana spent the entire second half ensuring the home side did not add to the scoreline.
Despite the presence of Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams and Jordan Ayew, the Black Stars struggled to create any tangible chance throughout the clash.
The United States created six big chances compared to zero from the Africans, who attempted seven shots, with just two of them on target.
With the result, Ghana ended the October window with two defeats and six goals conceded without scoring a single goal.
