Kitara played four games and won three of them. The Masindi-based outfit beat UPDF FC 3-0, with Omedi netting a hat trick, he was also on target as they edged KCCA FC and Wakiso Giants FC 1-0, apiece.
Kitara FC collected both the Player and Manager of the Month accolades for February at the Pilsner Uganda Premier League Awards.
Striker Denis Omedi was instrumental for Brian Ssenyondo’s team as the Royals moved top of the UPL log, and they were both crowned at the ceremony held at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo on Friday.

Goals from Denis Omedi, Jude Semugabi and Living Kabon ensured that the Royals took their tally to 43 points, four ahead of runners-up BUL FC, who have played a game less.
Upon his crowning, Omedi was full of praise for his coach, noting how important the gaffer is to him and the entire team on and off the pitch.
“I am excited to be the Player of the Month for February, and I would like to thank everyone at Kitara, especially the coach,” the forward said before adding.
“He is not only concerned about us on the field but also beyond the game.”

Kitara coach Ssenyondo 'mocks' and punches holes in the Obua-ball
Ssenyondo paid attention to the detail of URA head coach David Obua's possession-style of play, which has been termed by many as the “Obua-ball."
“Coach Brian looks out for us to ensure that we are all doing well, and his caring and advice motivates all the players to work hard,” he added.
Similarly, Ssenyondo could also not thank his technical team, playing staff, and management enough for the commitment shown thus far.
“I am here just as a representative of Kitara because there are very many people working behind the scenes to help us succeed.”

Obua lays question marks on two Kitara goals in URA defeat
"Two of them, maybe the third goal was a good goal, but the (first) two they scored there were questionable," Obua said in the post-match interview.
“Allow me to thank my technical team, players, cooks, media team, driver, but most importantly the club president Mr. Deo Kasozi for the great work they are all doing in their capacities.”
“It is the togetherness that has brought us this far, and hopefully we can keep the bond as we strive for our targets as a club,” Ssenyondo noted.
Kitara played four games and won three of them. The Masindi-based outfit beat UPDF FC 3-0, with Omedi netting a hat trick, he was also on target as they edged KCCA FC and Wakiso Giants FC 1-0, apiece.
The Uganda Cranes striker only missed to score once in February when the Pride of Bunyoro drew 1-1 with SC Villa.
He shrugged off competition from KCCA’s Muhammad Shaban, Express FC’s Isaac Waigona, and Villa’s Patrick Kakande.
Meanwhile, Ssenyondo beat URA FC’s David Obua and NEC FC’s Hussein Mbalangu for the Manager of the Month award.
He was winning the accolade for the second time this season. They both took home a Pilsner plaque, accolade, and a sum of one million Uganda shillings.
Kitara FC’s fine form continues and Omedi also can’t stop scoring. As the Royals are top of the league with 43 points from 21 games, he is the joint leading scorer with 11 goals level with Shaban and Bright Stars FC’s Nelson Ssenkatuka.
