Aston Villa forward Alisha Lehmann finally breaks the duck as she scored in the draw against West Ham.

Alisha Lehmann ended her goal drought in the Women's Super League on Sunday, scoring her first goal of the season for Aston Villa. However, her efforts weren't enough to secure a victory for her team.

The striker has been drawing blanks this season, failing to score in 12 games prior. She has finally broken the duck with her fortunate strike in the draw at West Ham.

The key moment

The Switzerland international found the back of the net just three minutes after coming off the bench in the 69th minute. Making a decisive run into the box, she connected with Kirsty Hanson's cross, although her finish was somewhat fortuitous as it was a mis-hit volley.

Nonetheless, the ball found its way past West Ham goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold, giving Villa a 1-0 lead with 18 minutes remaining.

Despite Lehmann's goal seemingly putting Villa on course for victory, West Ham snatched a late equaliser in the 95th minute through Shannon Cooke, denying Villa all three points.

The Villans will be looking to bounce back in their next fixture as they travel to face Brighton on Saturday. This upcoming match will be crucial as Villa aims to finish their season on a high note.
