The Akwa Ibom State Football Association has rewarded Akwa United with a cash prize of N100,000 for their 2-1 victory over Enyimba on Sunday.

The win over Enyimba was Akwa United's first victory in four league matches and their first in 2025.

According to the state FA Chairman, Mr. Samuel Umoh, the gesture is a token of appreciation and motivation for the team to record more victories in the remaining matches of the season.

"We in the Football Association are proud of your victory in today's game, and it's a thing of joy and happiness for us and all those fans who came out to watch the match," Umoh said.
Umoh added that the association is committed to providing an enabling environment for the team to succeed.
