The Super Eagles are set for the AFCON 2025 draw, but which big countries will Nigeria avoid in the group stages?

The upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 draw, scheduled for Monday in Rabat, Morocco, has positioned Nigeria's Super Eagles in Pot 1, allowing them to avoid several formidable opponents in their quest for glory.

The tournament, which runs from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, is set to be the first AFCON to span two calendar years, with the Super Eagles looking for a fourth title after the last in 2013.

The draw will take place at the iconic Mohammed V National Theatre and will feature all 24 qualified teams divided into six groups.
