AFC Leopards new signing Sydney Lokale has been handed a call up to the national team ahead of AFCON qualifier fixture against Cameroon.

AFC Leopards striker Sydney Lokale has received a call up to the national team, Harambee Stars ahead of crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier fixture against Cameroon on Friday, October 11.

Harambee Stars top group J with four points ahead of their next opponent, Cameroon on goal difference and will be looking to solidify their position.

The Leopards talisman will hope to find minutes in Engin Firat's system where he deployed a two-striker partnership in Stars last outing against Namibia.

Sydney Lokale has been on fire for AFC Leopards as he scored off the bench to earn Ingwe all three points in the FKF Premier League fixture against Bidco United on Saturday, September 21.

It was the second goal for the striker in three games after opening his Ingwe account on matchday one when they thrashed Mathare United 4-0.

AFC Leopards announced the strikers call up via theirs x account.

"Congratulations to our striker, Sydney lokale , who has earned a call up to the National team - Harambee Stars, for the upcoming AFCON 2025 Qualifiers against Cameroon," read part of the tweet.

The Leopards marksman will however face stiff competition from Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga who has been on a hot streak for Al-Duhail since his return from injury having missed the fixtures against Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Additionally, there is competition from the strike partnership of John Avire and Jonah Ayunga that saw much success against Namibia.
