AFC Leopards promises top security and ticket buzz as arch-rivals collide, aiming for a spectacle at Kasarani in the Mashemeji Derby.

AFC Leopards secretary general Gilbert Andugu is leaving no stone unturned as he pledges a seamless and secure experience for fans attending the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby.

With AFC Leopards seeking their first win of the season, the stakes are high, and Andugu emphasises the importance of order and safety in and around the stadium.

Andugu has assured that entering the stadium will be a well-organised process with tight security measures.

"We are well-prepared in terms of ticketing, with numerous entry scanning points, and we hope for a collective effort as we aim to help the club raise revenue," he stated.

Ingwe are geared up for a significant turn-up, encouraging fans from all walks of life to attend the game. To manage the crowd efficiently, AFC Leopards have strategically placed over 10,000 tickets on sale.

"Our target is over 10,000 attendees, and we are fully prepared in terms of manpower and security. We have (GSU) four platoons and 50 stewards, with an additional 30 from Gor Mahia. In addition, we have regular police support," Andugu elaborated.

As the designated home team for the derby, AFC Leopards have adopted a tech-savvy approach, allowing fans to purchase tickets through the club's official website. The pricing tiers cater to diverse preferences, offering VVIP tickets at Ksh1000, VIP tickets at Ksh500, and Terraces providing an affordable option at Ksh300.

Despite the Kasarani Stadium's capacity for 60,000 spectators, AFC Leopards have opted to make only 44,060 tickets available for purchase, hinting at a calculated strategy to ensure an electric and intimate atmosphere. However, Andugu remains tight-lipped on what contingency plans are in place if an overflow of fans occurs on match day.

The upcoming Mashemeji Derby, scheduled to kick off at 4 PM, promises to be a spectacle, potentially filling the Kasarani to near capacity.

Gor Mahia, currently occupying the second spot on the league table with nine points, trails four behind the high-flying Posta Rangers. Meanwhile, AFC Leopards find themselves in the 16th position with four points from five matches played this season.

The clash between these arch-rivals holds the anticipation of not only a gripping football encounter but also a celebration of the passionate fanbase that defines the Mashemeji Derby.
