AFC Leopards striker Fasanmi Ojo Olaniyi has been hit by terrible news following the unfortunate death of his son.
The Nigeria international is reported to have lost his child on Tuesday, although the exact cause of death is yet to be disclosed.
Confirming the news on Facebook, AFC Leopards wrote in tribute consoling the forward on the tragic passing of his son.
“Our heartfelt condolences to our forward Ojo Olaniyi who lost his son.
Let's pray and support Olaniyi and his family in this trying and hard moment.May his soul Rest in Peace,” the club posted on their Facebook page.
Olaniyi has already been granted compassionate leave by AFC Leopards and will miss the Round of 16 FKF Cup match against Zetech Titans on Saturday at Moi International Sports Centre,Kasarani.
The striker has scored five goals for Ingwe this season, the latest coming in January 8 against Bidco United.
The 23-year-old joined AFC Leopards at the beginning of 2020/ 2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season from Kakamega Homeboyz.
The former Lobi Stars marksman was close to joining Venda in the South African football league in the last transfer window before visa and immigration issues scuttled the deal.
